CT-04: Blograiser and Pub Quiz for Jim Himes Tomorrow

by: tparty

Fri Sep 28, 2007 at 10:39:03 AM EDT

(I've been meaning to post about this all week, though many of you got an email from me about it. I'll be there as one of the blogger co-hosts. Should be a fun event (wish I had more time to form a pub quiz team!) and it's certainly for a great cause. Hopefully, I won't be the sole representative of TAP. Anyone care to join me? - promoted by phillip anderson)

Just a short Metro-North ride away from NYC, and days before the end of the 3Q, the CT blogosphere is co-hosting a pub quiz/blograiser for Jim Himes in CT-04 tomorrow (Saturday) night.

And you should be there:

If you're planning on attending (and it should be a ton of fun), you can skip the checkbook and contribute now online (Suggested donation $25).

If you can't make it, please chip in what you can to help reach our goal of 50 donors by Saturday, and help send Chris Shays packing for good. You can also follow the event live online at My Left Nutmeg, where we're planning on livestreaming the event via UStream.tv.

Much more on the flip...

tparty :: CT-04: Blograiser and Pub Quiz for Jim Himes Tomorrow
Jim had this to say in an email sent out yesterday to supporters:

September was promised to be a watershed month for the Iraq War.  But instead of re-evaluating his support for troop escalation in Iraq, Chris Shays decided that September was the time to seek a promotion.

After failing in his oversight of the Hurricane Katrina disaster, failing in his oversight of no-bid contracts in Iraq, and failing in his oversight of the conduct of the war, Chris Shays demanded to lead the Oversight Committee and threatened to resign if he was not given a promotion by Republican party leaders.

What are his priorities?  The people of southwest Connecticut?  Ending this disastrous war in Iraq?  None of the above.  Chris Shays' #1 priority is Chris Shays.  And that must change, now.

With your investment, we can work together for different priorities in Congress.

From what we've all seen out of Congress recently, it's obvious we need both more and better Democrats. This is a chance to get both.

This won't be your normal fundraiser.

Come meet Jim and have a great time tomorrow night, or else contribute what you can today, before the 3Q ends on Sunday, via ActBlue:
