Santa: Kinda Sucky

Hey, Santa! Thanks for nothin', dude.

An Unacceptable Risk for Ari Fleischer

So about that scintillating rumor - the one picked up and held firmly at arm's length last week by super-sub Andrew Rice -- about Westchester native and former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer running for the Sue Kelly seat in 2008...

Fleischer wishes to put the speculation to rest once and for all.

For the record, he said in an impressively Shermanesque email, "I do want you to know that I am NOT running. Now that I have children, I would never do anything that could risk making them into Redskin fans."

I was sooooooo good this year and asked all nice and stuff. But, no dice.

You're breakin' my heart, Santa. Hope you're happy.

A Fleischer race (0.00 / 0)
Would have been "exciting" and high-profile and would certainly have allowed us to tie a ton of anvils around his pencil neck. But it also would have been extremely expensive, as he is the ultimate insider and has tremendous access to the GOP money machine. I'd much rather have a totally boring snoozefest in NY-20.

i'd love some snoozefests too (0.00 / 0)
but it ain't gonna happen. NY-20, gillibrand's dietrict, will be much harder to hold on to than hall's (NY-19), IMHO. the rumor was that ari was going to challenge hall.

my desire to see ari run was motivated by the video editor part of me and a visceral dislike of everything about that asshole. hell, i'd already cut a half dozen ads in my head. let's face it, he's a "target rich environment" if there ever was one. plus, i just don't see any republican taking back the 19th anytime soon. that district is definitely trending our way.

anyhoo, the GOoPs are gonna run hard at both especially given that both sides see gillibrand's seat as one of the top 10 most endangered.

TODAY is day one. It always is.

I think (4.00 / 1)
Ari Fleisher is on Fitz's witness list in the upcoming Plame trial.  He might not be too popular with Republicans if he helps put Libby in jail.

[ Parent ]
i'm sure he is (0.00 / 0)
as he's up to his nipples in plamegate. that's just one of the reasons i so wanted him to run.

TODAY is day one. It always is.

No kidding.  Ari would have Bush tied around his neck.

Blame Bush (0.00 / 0)
He's responsible for this:
