 Wait just a second there, MSNBC. Bernie Kerik may be many things, but he is not now, nor was he ever a "9/11 Hero." To refer to him as such is a slap in the face to the actual heroes of that day. Let us not forget that, as the real heroes were literally picking pieces of their comrades as well as close to 3,000 other murder victims out of the smoking pile at ground zero, Bernie was high above them, in an apartment meant to provide a space for weary rescue workers to find rest, having extramarital affairs with not only Judith Regan, but also a NYPD subordinate, Jeannette Pinero.
I don't watch much cable news. It's mostly annoying garbage. And I know that stupid stuff like this happens all the time. I mean, how often is it that FAUX News puts (D) behind the name of a child molester or misidentifies an inocent family as terrorists? Happens all the time. But this one is just beyond the pale and it feels like an insult. MSNBC should be ashamed of themselves.
There are literally thousands of people who can quite properly be described as "9/11 Hero." The disgraced Bernie Kerik is most assuredly not one of them. |
