Senate Member Item Spending - Could this be Political?

by: NYBri

Tue Jan 09, 2007 at 23:41:34 PM EST

Here's a graphic depiction of the Member Item allocation for 2005-2006 by Senate District (number on the left). The Red bars are Republican (majority) and the blue are Democratic (minority).

Update: Member Items for 2005-2006 and 2006-2007.

Nothing political about this process at all. The longer red bars are the real Bruno ring kissers.

I look at that and I see red.... (4.00 / 3)
(and I bet if I looked at the Assembly, I'd see blue.)

We've got some work ahead of us.

Remind me how much of a deficit do we have in NY? (4.00 / 2)
If we could cut down so that member item spending for each Senator is say as much as the highest blue spending 640,500 we might begin to say make government a iittle less bloated. Gosh Darned Tax-and-Spend Republicans.

Reality has a well known liberal Bias-Stephen Colbert

wow. (4.00 / 2)
The chart speaks for itself.

From the Senate 05-06 and 06-07 (4.00 / 1)
A brief look at http://www.senate.st...

The Community Projects Fund SFY 2005-06 doesn't appear to have any minority initiatives listed, execpt for Carl Kruger whose funding is listed on the Senate *Marjority* Initiative. Forms.

It is not clear why there are no Minority Initiatives listed.

The rest of the funding listed in the graph appears to come from the Community Projects Fund SFY 2006-07 which does list both Minority and Majority Initiatives.

No dems in Senate pdfs 05 (repost) (4.00 / 1)
To answer an email we received about the lack of dem funds listed on the graphic for 05/06 - From my comment last night: either the Senate has not complied w/ the court order, or they did not distribute any minority initiatives in 05-06 Comm. Proj. Funds:
senate.state.ny.us/SenateReports.nsf/Public_ViewReports?OpenForm
The Community Projects Fund SFY 2005-06 pdf published on the NYS Senate website doesn't appear to have any minority initiatives listed, except for Carl Kruger whose funding is listed on the Senate *Majority* Initiative Forms.

It is not clear why there are no Minority Initiatives listed.

The rest of the funding listed in the graph appears to come from the Community Projects Fund SFY 2006-07 which does list both Minority and Majority Initiatives.

Do you need another (0.00 / 0)
compliment? That's a wonderful graphic. Thanks. Will the Assembly member items seem so vastly skewed by party and favorite status?

Robinia gets all kudos... (0.00 / 0)
Assembly chart is probably a color reversal.

We've got some work ahead of us.

Great work guys (0.00 / 0)
Proving again the maxim that a picture is worth a thousand words.

Has this been spotlighted? (0.00 / 0)

All you need is Love.

...or is that "Spotlit?" (0.00 / 0)

We've got some work ahead of us.
