| This is interesting. Check out these Q4 numbers (via Rochester Turning). Eric Massa raised $275,960 last quarter and $598,072 over the course of the cycle. Compare that to $156,736 in Q4 and $498,221 cycle to date for Randy Kuhl (R-Hair Club for Men). And to top it all off, check out these cash on hand numbers:
Eric Massa: $414,603.
Randy Kuhl: $326,513.
I like what I see out in the 29th.
UPDATE: Here's a statement from Massa:
Yesterday, Navy Veteran and Congressional challenger Eric Massa posted his 4th quarter campaign fundraising numbers. From October 1st to December 31st, 2007, Massa raised a total of $267,960.18, bringing his campaign war chest of cash on hand to $414,603.90. This grassroots fundraising achievement clearly demonstrates a dramatic increase in the demand for change and a categorical rejection of the failed culture of incumbency and Washington hypocrisy. Massa, who has honored his pledge to refuse corporate PAC contributions, has now had more cash on hand than Kuhl for three straight quarters, all while continuing to rely on individual supporters rather than Washington lobbyists to fund his campaign. Last quarter thousands of individuals contributed to the campaign of Navy veteran Eric Massa.
"Once again, I want to thank our grassroots supporters for putting us in the lead," said retired Navy Commander Eric Massa. "While this news is exciting, I've always believed that this race is about much more than money - it's about the families who struggle to make ends meet in Western New York. Change is in the air, and in November we will set a new standard: making certain that the voices of hardworking Western New Yorkers are heard Washington." |
