SD-48: Liveblogging Special Election Results

by: phillip anderson

Tue Feb 26, 2008 at 18:08:26 PM EST

Many folks have emailed to ask if I will be liveblogging the results from today's special election in the 48th. My answer? Duh! Of course I am, silly. I mean, how could I not do so after our friends at Rochester Turning said that we've "been all over this race like a freakin' horde of locusts"?

I'll be here liveblogging as long as it takes, even if this thing goes really late, a distinct possibility. I hope you'll be here as well. I've got a good feeling about this one.

Less than three hours to go...

G-O-T-V.

Our friends at RT kill me... (4.00 / 4)
My favorite quote: "Courtesy of The Albany Project, which appears to be staffed by a bunch of Biblical-era grasshoppers..."

I almost ruptured my spleen laughing so hard at that line.

We focused on this race for good reason: It will put us one seat closer to taking back the Senate.

I'll be watching TAP (4.00 / 5)
...for the latest and greatest....

Darrrrrrrreeeeeeeeelllllll, Daaaaaaaarrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeelllllll....

We've got some work ahead of us.

I guess I should mention.... (4.00 / 2)
That I will be hosting my radio show tonight from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. covering the results as they come in. So if you want to tune in and follow Phillip's liveblog, you'll be doing yourself a huge favor :).

final tally (4.00 / 5)
...is zero to zero.  There's a big snowstorm on.  Nobody voted!  Muahahahahah.

Just kidding, of course.

But I am so freaking amused that every staffer in Albany is stuck up in the North Country in an icky blizzard!  Couldn't have happened to a nicer group of folks.

I'm hoping (4.00 / 3)
...to have a few staffers finally get the idea of what a spectacular wind energy resource this part of the state has... who knows, they might even come up with some environmentally-appropriate legislation out of the experience.

[ Parent ]
But that would require logical thought (4.00 / 2)
Remember, this is Albany we're talking about

[ Parent ]
I'm worried (0.00 / 0)
that the staffers will see how much wind energy there is there, decide that they don't like the area for punishing them with weather, and head back to Albany to support NYRI.

(Yes, comment contrasts to Robinia's.  What else is new?)

[ Parent ]
Well... (4.00 / 1)
...you do always make me think, though.  It is surely a possibility.  But, I think Roatti has it-- they will probably mostly remember their own personal experiences.
