| The Stonewall Democratic Club of New York City, a group that advocates for LGBT causes and supports candidates who are friendly to gay causes, has released their list of endorsements for the 2008 election.
There aren't too many shockers on the list. Here are the notables:
- Kevin Powell was endorsed over Rep. Edolphus Towns in NY-10.
- The group backed Steve Harrison over Mike McMahon in NY-13.
- Joseph Addabbo was endorsed over Albert Baldeo in SD-15.
- Sen. Kevin Parker was endorsed in SD-21 over his two primary challengers Simcha Felder and Kendall Stewart.
- In SD-25, the Stonewall Democrats went with Sen. Martin Connor over Daniel Squadron.
- There will be no endorsement in SD-32, as Sen. Ruben Diaz, who has been an opponent of gay causes, did not receive an endorsement from the Stonewall Democrats and because there is no other candidate in the race, no one will get an endorsement.
- One of the more newsworthy endorsements came when the Stonewall Democrats backed Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver over Luke Henry and Paul Newell. |
