SD 3 Brian Foley for State Senate Website is now up

by: politics64

You can visit the campaign site at
foleyforsenate
The site has an opening photo and message from the candidate.  There is a sign-up feature for volunteers, contributions and receiving campaign updates.

The welcome statement from Brian gives the reader some insights into his progressive agenda. His powerful environmental commitment as demonstrated by his preservation of 1100 acres of Brookhaven Town from development.

More on the flip

politics64 :: SD 3 Brian Foley for State Senate Website is now up
His cost cutting and responsible fiscal management that in reality is what progressives do to help middle class people afford their homes, unlike the right wings ridiculous rantings that they are the fiscal specialists.

Foley clearly expresses a view that government has a place in expanding health-care to the uninsured.  He wants to eliminate unfunded mandates on local govt. while supporting a property tax cap proposals.

But it is these words that inspire me most about Brian Foley's positions:

And above all, I'll go to Albany to change the culture of secrecy and dysfunction so that we can finally make progress on all of these issues.
And across our state and nation, voters are demanding a lot more from our elected officials. People have heard enough promises and far too many partisan attacks - they want action and results. And that's what we will be offering them in November.

Because of this we will make history when we elect a new administration in Washington, and here in New York, we will also make history by electing the first Democratic Majority to the State Senate in over 4 decades.

Because after 4 decades of rising taxes, with millions of people still lacking health insurance, and an economy that consistently fails to grow as fast as other states', we're overdue for this change.

As I said, we started by making real changes here on Long Island. We will finish by making the change we need in Albany.

I would like to have seen a more expansive site that would include links to campaign press releases, news, photo gallery, advertising commercials, positions and more.  I have a good feel that this is a work in progress and that expanded features will be created soon but there is something up now. Pay it a visit and comment to the campaign.

UPDATE
I just learned that this past weekend over a dozen Foley volunteers canvased in Brookhaven and received great responses from the voters they spoke with regarding the campaign. I will be joining them very shortly, digital camera in tow and will post here with plenty of photo's of the joint Foley/Obama HQ in Brookhaven and of the canvasers doing their thing door to door.

it's just a mock-up, mark. (4.00 / 2)
but, hey, thanks for jumping the gun and all then complaining about all the stuff the site doesn't have.

TODAY is day one. It always is.

Hopefully the delicate genious crafting the site will make it special! (0.00 / 0)
But atleast other folks posting on the races can have a website address to attach to Brian's name as they do the others.

BTW (0.00 / 0)
My friends at the local HQ released it to me via email so that I may get the scoop on posting it first.

[ Parent ]
Why is this relevant? (0.00 / 0)
Why mention that they e-mailed it to you so that you can get the "scoop?" I don't get the point of doing that. If I did that every time I posted, I think it would get annoying for people to hear that self-congratulations.

[ Parent ]
You speak as though your the one designing it? (0.00 / 0)
I didn't know you did that for a profession? In fact, I never did learn what you do for a living?  You know if I failed to make those comments about the site a certain little intern around here would have been on the post saying it for me!

[ Parent ]
i am consulting with the designers (4.00 / 1)
of the site as well as the folks on the campaign who will run it.

TODAY is day one. It always is.

I'm not an intern (4.00 / 2)
I am a blogger. Period. If anyone wants to take that up with me, they can.

I WAS an intern when I was a full-time college student in the spring.

By the way, it's not a "little intern" to you Mark. It's "little brat." Come on Mark. If you're going to call me that, at least call me by the right name.

HMMM! Where could I have gotten that idea from? (0.00 / 0)

(Bumped. Help Robert get to Austin! - promoted by phillip anderson)

As many of you know, our intern, Robert Harding, is absolutely tireless. He does our state Senate Power Rankings, he interviews candidates all the time. He does it all. He has gone above and beyond for us time and time again. You probably also know that, through the efforts of many folks on this site, Robert was able to win a DFA scholarship to Netroots Nation in Austin

This shortly followed the post to vote for your DFA scholarship that I gladly responded to. It was that well written request from Phillip that inspired me to contribute $100 to that cause as well. I just can't say no to a contribution request from Phillip! You know something, Robert, despite all your nasty assed attitude problems, disrespect and disdain you demonstrate toward me, I would still do it again if Phillip asked today. But that is the difference between us.

[ Parent ]
Phillip did that... (0.00 / 0)
To highlight my work over the spring, which was when my role with TAP really got off the ground. There is a much larger story behind such an internship which might knock your socks off. But I will save that for another day.

I respect people who respect me. That should address the "disrespect" portion of your complaint. Again, I will let the archives speak for themselves.

I don't hate you Mark. Claiming I have disdain for you is wrong.

As for my attitude problems, I don't take lip service from anyone. I don't care who you are. I think you are in the same boat Mark. That's where we clash and where claims of attitude problems evolve.

I think we are more alike than we are different. But that's just me.

[ Parent ]
Well, you think we are more alike than we are different. (0.00 / 0)
Thats a warm and fuzzy olive branch for peace if ever I saw one. I am also glad you shave no disdain for me, I was beginning to wonder.

As for the intern, the date was July 9, the use of intern waqs present tense. At the minimum, I would have expected you to read that and respond by saying, "Sorry Mark, that I responded oversensitively to your use of the word intern in Phillips post as while that is no longer my position I can understand how one can read that and come to that conclusion".

[ Parent ]
I have no disdain for you... (0.00 / 0)
As I mentioned in my comment a few minutes ago, I think you bring a lot to the table. But you also need to keep the remarks directed at individuals here out of your posts. You tend to target someone in your opening paragraph on a regular basis. That should be unnecessary.

The intern thing is a dead issue. As the intern, I'm telling you that I am no longer interning with TAP. I am a blogger and I plan on being a blogger for a very long time.

The fact that..... (0.00 / 0)
You feel the need to get so personal with Robert shows a real discrepancy in political savvy between you two, the fact is that you can't hold a candle to him on policy or politics despite his age.

[ Parent ]
Well daniel jones, All my life when I have seen two people go at it (0.00 / 0)
I have made it a point to let them keep it between them and stay out of what is not my own affair.

[ Parent ]
Sorry, Robert is my friend (0.00 / 0)
I happen to be of the belief that you stand with your friends when their being attacked.

[ Parent ]
Hey. (0.00 / 0)
Politics64, Robert, both of you, please, take a step back. I fail to see where the value in this exchange lies.

[ Parent ]
Whoa guys (0.00 / 0)
On a scale of 1 to 10 we're at like a 17.3

I'm with Bouldin. Breathe. Post again tomorrow.

You're both in this game to elect "Progressives" to office.

This isn't helping.
