Here is the statement from the Jack Davis campaign that was written in one of my two posts about alleged petition fraud in Niagara County.
"It's difficult to take Jon Powers or Dan Rivera seriously. One flip-flops on issues important to women and takes money from a strip club owner who profits from the exploitation of women. The other stands accused of inappropriately touching a female subordinate. Birds of a feather flock together, but voters deserve more than just the same old politics that have divided local Democrats for far too long."
Two things:
(1) I don't see how attacking the character of your opponent AND a party chair that, one would think, you would want the support of should you win a primary in September. Not exactly smart campaign strategy there, but hey, this is the Davis campaign.
(2) How does this address the problem that has been presented? You have this information about alleged petition fraud out there and instead of addressing that or giving any explanation, you choose to attack the character of Powers and Rivera?
Interesting. REAL interesting.
I would hope the Davis campaign comes up with a real explanation, instead of one that tries to play on a story they have tried to push for over two months now (the strip club owner giving to Jon Powers).
And again, why attack a county chairman you would seek the support of (one would think) in September should you win the primary? That's inexplicable to me. |
