SD-6: Kristen McElroy's First Mailer

As you can see by Robert's post below, it's direct mail season again. Today we see the first mailing by Kristen McElroy who is taking on craptastic incumbent Kemp Hannon in SD-6. While we're still waiting on her website, this mailer looks awfully good and hopefully is a sign of good things to come. From our pals at the Daily Gotham:

What I really like about this (4.00 / 3)

is the simple change message. That's what it's all about this year, and she personifies it.

Every candidate I've talked utters the word "change" at some point. This is a change election for many reasons and at the state level, it is a huge change year.

I live in the District and just had a phone survey a few minutes ago.

I see the buzzwords all over this mailer "Change Albany" & "property tax relief" = Suozzi pal and tax cap.

Absent a correction of this perception, she won't have my support.

Don't put too much stock in this race (0.00 / 0)

I live in the district and at first I was pretty optimistic. The registration numbers are trending D and there seemed to be some potential for McElroy. So I decided to try to volunteer, in June, about a little before petitioning started. McElroy doesn't have a website so I had to call up the county party. When I spoke to someone, I was informed that there was nothing going on with the campaign and that they would call me when the campaign became active.

That was in June. I have yet to hear from anyone with the campaign.

county committees are not the best message taker for any new campaign. I am impressed by this mailer and am sending in a contribution right now to the McElroy campaign. I sense another DA Rice surprise in the making here!
