AD-64, SD-25 Results Thread

by: phillip anderson

Tue Sep 09, 2008 at 20:53:44 PM EDT

As soon as results start to come in, this post will change to the "AD-64, SD-25 Results Thread."

I'll also have a thread for SD-21 and SD-33 as well as one for NY-13.

Hold on to your hats, folks.

SD-25

250 of 266 reporting

Squadron - 11,790  56%
Connor - 9,387   44%

AD-64

92 of 94 reporting

Silver - 6,380     67%
Newell - 2,262    24%
Henry -  852     9%

Note: none of these totals include WFP votes.

Looking real good for Squadron.

UPDATE
: Marty Connor is running out of reporting precincts, folks. He'd better have a few thousand votes stashed somewhere.

UPDATE: Shelly wins. Convincingly.

what about NY-26? (0.00 / 0)

We've got some work ahead of us.

TODAY is day one. It always is.

well, hello there. (0.00 / 0)
big night tonight.

We've got some work ahead of us.

Sounds good (0.00 / 0)
I can't think of any other NYC related primary to cover so cheers Phillip.

Where's your source?  I'm looking at the AP site for results, but I'm sure there's something more direct.

actually, that's (0.00 / 0)
what i am looking at as well.

it sucks.

I called (4.00 / 1)
the NYC Board of Elections and asked if they would be putting results online somewhere, and the guy made an odd comment about watching the results on CNN or network news.  So much for transparency, I guess.

I have posted on AD 6 (0.00 / 0)
Ramos ahead early on, see numbers on thread.

SD 43 (0.00 / 0)

Russo up by 80 in Rens County. 15-134 in

Wish we could get a precinct location breakdown (0.00 / 0)
I'd like to know where the votes are coming in right now for Squadron.  If Carroll Gardens hasn't been counted yet, then I'd say it's looking REALLY good for our boy Daniel Squadron.

Silver is doing about what i thought he would, damn it! (4.00 / 1)
But Squadron, This is smelling like a huge sea shift for reforming and progressivizing Albany!

BingChester calls it for Squadron! (4.00 / 1)
58-42 with 81% reporting.

Victory for Squadron!

So happy I moved to Cobble Hill in April. (4.00 / 1)
My first vote in Brooklyn--my first victory!

Call it for Squadron, Phillip! (4.00 / 1)
and congrats to progressives! Sorry Mike Bloomberg.  Addabbo will add to your State Senate losing streak on election day!

first time out against Silver (0.00 / 0)
Remember - Squadron wasn't Connor's first challenge.  Connor won in 2006 with 55% of the vote, but couldn't pull it out this time against a different opponent.

Of course, Squadron also lacks the sheer power of Silver. Minority State Senator isn't nearly as strong a position to work from as Assembly Speaker.

I'm glad Newell and Henry took a shot at Silver, but have to say that Silver's only one small piece of the Assembly Democrats' problem.  He may be the most visible, and perhaps the least apologetic, but we all need to take a long hard look at the whole conference.
