NY-26: Powers To Campaign With Kryzan Throughout District

by: robert.harding

Fri Oct 24, 2008 at 16:09:16 PM EDT

Jon Powers has already endorsed Democratic candidate Alice Kryzan. Now he is going to take it one step further.

Kryzan will be campaigning in four counties throughout the 26th congressional district and Powers will join her. In an e-mail to supporters, Kryzan had this to say about Powers joining her on the trail:

On Monday, Jon Powers and I will be hitting the pavement and talking to voters in Rochester, Geneseo, Batavia and Williamsville about importance of this election to the working families of Western New York.

I am excited to have Jon's support and so proud to add his voice to those calling for change in Western New York and across the country.  I hope you can join us!

Kryzan and Powers will appear together in four counties: Erie, Genesee, Livingston and Monroe counties. They will kick off their day together on Monday at the Monroe County Democratic Headquarters in Rochester before traveling to Livingston County and meeting with SUNY Geneseo's College Democrats. They will then head over to Genesee County and meet at the Genesee County Democratic Committee Headquarters before ending their day at the Kryzan for Congress Volunteer Center in Amherst.

This will be a big day. I will make it out for at least one event and maybe more. This will be quite a duo working together. I'm looking forward to it.

Ironic that Kryzan needs Powers help to gain any support in the rural districts.

It's great of Powers to show that support in winning the seat for the Democrats even though Kryzan lied about his service.

He wasn't good enough to be in the seat... but now he's good enough to gain her votes?

I think it's b.s., but I respect Powers decision.

I'm still voting Powers on WFP. He's showing he's the only candidate with any class in this race.

Vote for Powers on the WFP line November 4th !!!

I've spoken with Jon... (0.00 / 0)
...If you can find your way to vote for Alice, please do. He would want you not to waste your vote and help hand the seat over to Lee.

Thanks

We've got some work ahead of us.

at this point Powers is doing what the party would like him to so they can win the seat. as a lifelong Democrat i am disgusted by my own party.

they had NO defense for their own candidate (powers) while he was being falsely slammed during the primary, now they want him to push kryzan? it's complete b.s.

sad, stupid politics. I don't want lee to win, but I will never vote for kryzan.

i think more people should vote for Powers. no vote is wasted! a vote is a vote, and i have that right.

if you know someone voting for Lee, and you're voting kryzan... does that mean both your votes are wasted? and neither of you should vote?

i have the right to vote for whoever i think is the best candidate, and that is Powers. if dems were so worried about this seat, they should've put more effort behind Powers (dem's nationally I mean, not locally, because he had amazing local support).

it's sad and pathetic, and makes me realize politics (at the leadership level) is nothing but a bunch of b*llsh*t sshl*s who have no idea what is going on. pretty sad.

Vote for Powers on the WFP line November 4th !!!

You are wrong when you say "Powers is doing what the party would like him to..." Powers did this based on his own thoughts and made the call himself. He's not around here anymore. He's got a nice job in an area of expertise for him. He doesn't answer to the party. He did this on his own.

It's not the party's job to be the number one source of defense for a campaign. The party has many campaigns to worry about. It was the Powers campaign's responsibility to respond to attacks and charges. They did that to some extent, but not nearly as much as they should have.

I'm voting for Alice Kryzan on November 4. Voting for someone who is living and working out of state isn't reasonable.

But while you're voting on the WFP line...

Vote for Obama on Row E too, will you?
