| The latest bit of Boss Bruno corruption allegedly involves him getting sweet deals in buying broodmares and selling foals.
One of the usual suspects shows up in the story -- Jared Abbruzzese, who gave lots of money to Bruno, provided him with private jet flights, and got $500,000 at least in return in member items for for-profit companies he was involved with.
The story quotes an anonymous source "familiar with the probe" saying that the feds are "building toward a climax in the case."
Geez, it's well past time for that.
Hopefully, the grand jury will survive the presidential transition, and a new U.S, attorney will do what previous Bushite U.S. attorneys would not do -- indict one of the most corrupt politicians around here in history.
Some might want to let bygones be bygones.
But what's the point of saying that the government can only prosecute public corruption cases when the corrupt politician is in office?
As if there's some special, really short statute of limitations for political crooks!?
Boss Bruno probably made millions by trading on his Senate leadership position in a variety of ways.
He's out of office, and he's almost 80, but if he's a political crook, he should be indicted, convicted and imprisoned. |
