Because if it is Caesar Bloomberg could try to win both nominations, a la Earl Warren.

It's legal (0.00 / 0)

You can run on any line that will let you.  In 1981, Ed Koch ran on both the Democratic and Republican lines.

The city hasn't blown up?
It's good to make every civic and labor group wish for the good old days of a consensus-builder like Rudy Guiliani?
He built a stadium for the JETS on the west side (oops)?
He obtained congestion pricing (oops)?
He built the 2nd ave subway line (oops)
He built an East river connection to Grand Central station (oops)
He made sure to use the Mayor's office to go after Plaxico Burress?
He has made the the educational atmosphere far worse than when he arrived?
He created more city agencies that exist to do his bidding?
He is a hypocritical tyrant who thwarted term limits, but only for himself and those who are his enablers?
He has had no problem consorting with those who are arch enemies of liberalism, progressivism and fairness?

Oh yeah, he's a Democrat alright.

His philanthropy is well-known ... for purchasing the support of those groups who benefit from his "largesse" while he cuts their budgets drastically.

He is halfway to creating 160,000 new units of affordable housing ... if you include thousands of units he didn't create, and thousands more units that aren't actually affordable to most NYC residents.

He can't be bought -- but he thinks he can buy anyone he wants.
