Showdown?

We're building up to some kind of show in just a few minutes, around 3:00pm.

It sounds like Espada has the keys to the Senate chamber, though not the Sergeant-at-Arms' support for using them.

Meanwhile, Malcolm Smith is going to court for an injunction to stop this session, which makes me wonder which court he's headed to and how friendly they'll be.

Paterson is calling on everyone to "act like adults", as he is "not going to interfere with what goes on in the legislative branch. I'm not going to go knock down the doors of the Senate and open them up."

Want to see what's at stake? Here's the active list. I always wondered if sales tax renewals would become political footballs, and it looks like we've arrived there.

(And a big thanks to CapCon, source of all these links.)

Does anyone know (0.00 / 0)
if there are reporters on the scene?  I'm guessing, though I could be wrong, that the cameras on the floor are still off.

(Seeing the "Zapruder film" of the coup was good, but I'm hoping for something with sound...)

As of 3:17... (4.00 / 1)
they were still not in the chamber?

Press folks not happy...

Pissing off the press? (4.00 / 1)
Indeed.  Was just about to post that link.  Do they really have the reporters pining for Joe Bruno days?  Or did the Dems decide they still controlled the thermostat, and turned the heat on?

Liz Benjamin (4.00 / 1)
reports that the governor's office received a request to change the locks on the Senate door, a request which was refused.

Also, the "coalition" may be falling apart... read!

cannot believe (4.00 / 2)
The GOP and Dems are now fighting over who gets custody of The Slasher!

[ Parent ]
I guess everyone just really likes him (0.00 / 0)
Though the latest from CapCon suggests that he's moved back to talk with Republican friends.

We'll see...

Where's Pedro? (0.00 / 0)
So, is Espada making them wait for his entrance just to show them that they must show their "respect"?
