Man, what a heifer.
You heard it here first..
But there is nothing heroic about her. The people who drooled over her and hailed her as a champion of the middle class and as someone who lives up to their anti-politician and anti-government sentiments need to realize that is very much a politician (an opportunist, actually) and very much a lover of government, who certainly used her status as governor to her advantage.
There is more to this story. She isn't resigning to do a favor to the people of Alaska. Anything Sarah Palin does is for Sarah Palin. So I suspect there is an investigation somewhere that is damaging enough for her to step aside. Support our troops, not the war.
Liberal thugs attacked not only her, but her husband and every single one of her kids, including her youngest, Trig. All because she was against abortion.
"So I suspect there is an investigation somewhere that is damaging enough for her to step aside."
And you would be wrong. Like you always are.
Coward...
And I didn't attack her because she was against abortion. I criticized her because we already had the village idiot from Crawford, Texas as our president. We didn't need Wasilla's village idiot to be our vice president. I could think of several Republicans who would be better qualified than Sarah Palin, including a few Republican women who would make better VP candidates than Palin.
And I'm not wrong. There are reports that federal indictments are just around the corner and that her resigning was a way to avoid any calls for her resignation once these indictments are unveiled.
Best of luck on that one. This was never about Alaska. This was about the Palins. They are in some REAL hot water. Too hot for Alaska, that is. Support our troops, not the war.
I want my elected representatives to know what it's like to do their own grocery shopping, their own cooking, their own cleaning, and their own laundry.
I want my elected representatives to have sent out their own resumes, gone on job interviews, and perhaps interviewed people they might hire. I want my elected officials to have held at least one job where they had to shower after their shift.
I want my elected representatives to take positions on issues not out of dogma but because they truly understand the real-world implications and consequences of those positions.
I also want my elected representatives to have done some serious, intelligent thinking about issues large and small, to have been challenged on their positions -- and occasionally to have modified, or even outright flip-flopped, on issues when they learned things they hadn't thought of before.
I want to believe that my elected representatives know at least as much about any given issue as I do, or on those issues where I consider myself to have special knowledge because I have studied it extensively, to be willing to listen to me or someone as knowledgeable as I am and learn.
I want my eleced representatives to be eager to learn as much as possible, to get all the facts, to delve into causes and effects, to understand consequences, and to reach decisions based on these criteria.
Sarah Palin, from the research I've done, does meet the first few criteria listed above, but fails miserably on the latter ones, and to my mind the latter part of the list is more important. George W. Bush failed on all of them, and look what happened.
I don't know if Sarah Palin is a crook, as some seem to be intimating, and I don't believe that she means harm to people, even as she knocks down those she deems to be in her way. But I am convinced that she is unfit to be an elected representative of "the people" because she lacks the intellectual capacity, and the desire, to understand the true consequences of her public, political actions.
So good riddance -- and please, Governor Palin, stay away.
But the Post Chronicle article states that, "Her resignation was said to be so sudden that her own children were not aware she was resigning until they heard her speak the words."
"'Curiouser and curiouser,' cried Alice."
