This is still very awesome, but the event will be by invitation only:

No tickets will be available to the public for President Barack Obama's visit Monday to Hudson Valley Community College.

College spokeswoman Paula Monaco said about 60 HVCC students are being invited, and the White House is sending out all other invitations to what is expected to be a small, controlled event inside the school's senior automotive lab at Cogan Hall, located on the southern edge of the campus.

Those are some lucky, lucky students! Looks like Jill Biden will be there as well.  Renewable energy topics also seem to be on the agenda for the President's speech.  For this, and for the visit itself, we owe our thanks to freshman Reps. Murphy and Tonko:

The building was also the site only two weeks ago of a visit by U.S. Reps. Paul Tonko and Scott Murphy. The two local congressmen are helped bring Obama to the region.

The two legislators toured the building's solar panels as they were touting the federal climate change bill as a job creator.

The White House also will invite local clean-tech and renewable energy entrepreneurs to the event.

Those two are doing a crack job in my book.  Three cheers!

The Times Union has some early details regarding the Presidential visit.

The exact time of the speech, where it will take place on campus and who will attend has not yet been determined. The advance team wanted to ensure that there were as many as 500 parking spaces available for those attending.

The White House said additional details, including the time of the speech, will be released in the coming days. Matonak said he and his staff have cleared their schedules to work with the White House to plan the President's appearance Monday.

There was no immediate information from the White House on whether members of the general public would be able to attend. HVCC said the White House controls the tickets for the event.

It looks like the President will be highlighting the colleges recent work with businesses and industries in the developing nanotechnology sector in the region.  I'd be surprised if he doesn't touch on health care, too; he's on a real kick in that regard.
