| Gillibrand's favorable/unfavorable is now 33/24, a jump of six points on the favorable and a drop of two points on the unfavorable, compared tp last month.
Her elect number is also 33, an increase of six points since the question was last asked in May.
The favorable and elect numbers are Gillibrand's highest since her appointment in January.
In a hypothetical contest with Rudy 9/11, Gillibrand now trails by 49-43, which is a dramatic improvement from 53-36 last month.
In a hypothetical contest with from Gov. George Pataki, Gillibrand also improved, now leading 45-44, compared to trailing 46-41 last month.
Gillibrand has been working hard around the state to become better known, and that is beginning to be reflected in this poll.
She still has a ways to go, but she's definitely headed in the right direction.
She also picked up three more important endorsements recently -- from the Human Rights Campaign, NY-7 Rep. Joe Crowley (who is also Queens County Democratic chairman), and the GLOW Democratic Coalition (representing Genesee, Livingston, Orleans and Wyoming counties upstate).
And she continues to have a progressive voting record in the Senate, and take leadership positions on DADT and children's nutrition. |
