SD-13 Results Live! Peralta Wins!!!

by: ActionJax

Tue Mar 16, 2010 at 21:32:58 PM EDT

No results yet, but I will post them as soon as I get them!

Peralta: 9,563  66%

Beltrani: 1,051  7%

Slasher: 3,953  27%

151 of 158 precincts reporting.

Looking good, people!

Update! The NY1 site is slow reporting the numbers but Liz Benjamin says Peralta wins in a "landslide!"

With about 15,000 votes cast and roughly 100 pecent of the vote in - unofficially, that is - Assemblyman Jose Peralta had won the 13th SD special election in a landslide, according to his campaign, netting 66 percent of the vote to Hiram Monserrate's 27 percent and Republican Robert Beltrani's 7 percent.

Bye Bye, Hiram!

Update 2: Thanks so much to all the people who came out to Queens to help us get rid of the Slasher. I sure hope Hiram doesn't want to be my Assemblyman and we have to do it all over again.

I haven't found anything anywhere (4.00 / 4)
I used The Google, tried the state and NY City boards of election, NY Times, Albany times union, checked in here and daily kos.  It's a special election, but it IS kinda special, what with the slasher, balance of the senate for the budget and all.

NY-1 (4.00 / 5)
Just got home and turned on NY-1.  Heard them ssal they're about to declare Peralta the winner.  Bye Bye Slasher (although I heard that he may run for Peralta's seat so we'll have to work on that one also).

Addios, Ashhole! (4.00 / 5)
Maybe your friends on the Republican side of the aisle can find you a nice government job.  Roger Stone is always looking for guys like you.

The voters drew a line in the sand today (4.00 / 5)
We can do this again.

Great job, Queens! (4.00 / 5)
Step one towards the drive to an ethical and inclusive Albany! When shown the true facts, the voter will enact change - keep it going NY!

Tax the Church.

Glad to see scaring up the homo-bigot vote (4.00 / 6)
Won't go down as a winning move in NYC.

Awesome! (4.00 / 1)
Great turnout for a special election and a great win for all that worked to keep the Slasher out of Albany.

Almost 15K votes for a special election is huge when in 06 Sabini won the district with 22K votes.

I wonder if the 4K votes the Slasher received are enough to convince him to run for the Assembly. It's hard to imagine he could raise enough money for another special election campaign unless his new found Church friends fund raise for him.

Congrats to all that helped keep the Slasher out of Albany.

Re: Fundraising (0.00 / 0)
Doesn't it track many of the donors that wasted their money this time might be willing to give it one more shot, to regain the opportunity for a return on their investment? A double or nothing bet, if you will.

How sad would it have been (0.00 / 0)
if he'd won and they had to expel him again.

So...this seat has a long history of Crazy, so I don't hold out much hope for Peralta. Here's hoping though.

hopefully, they'll seat Peralto (0.00 / 0)
today. Does anyone have any idea whether that's the plan?
