Just received a slew of emails and facebook messages regarding the news that my friend and current NYS Young Democrats President Matt Silverstein, will be running in the Democratic Primary in the 26th Assembly District (Queens). Silverstein declared his candidacy after Assemblywoman Ann Carrozza announced her retirement.
Matt has done an amazing job as President of the Young Democrats over the last two years. Most recently, he helped lead the grassroots effort to elect Jose Peralta to the State Senate. He would be a great addition to Albany as a representative of his district and a new progressive voice in the Democratic Party.
