Got lots to discuss...

- US Senate races

- State Senate

Chat away.

Also, photos if you got 'em.

Get out there and let your voice be heard!

azipaybarah a Manhattan-based campaign worker tells me "There are crazy amounts of poll sites still locked or missing machines altogether" #voteoops

We've got some work ahead of us.

Western Queens has serious problems (0.00 / 0)
I got a call from a friend.  Her polling place in Sunnyside has two scanners, and neither one works.  They think someone put the battery in backwards.  A local district leader apparently says there are similar problems all around the area.

Slow day in Rockland (0.00 / 0)
At 9:30 am, I was only the ninth Democratic voter in my precinct. I'm hearing similar stories throughout Rockland County...turnout, so far, is very light even for a midterm primary.

There are no reported problems with machines here, yet.

Low Dem voter "enthusiasm" or just too few primary races? (0.00 / 0)
Interesting to compare the numbers this year with comparable years.

We've got some work ahead of us.

[ Parent ]
12th voter overall at 9AM in Islip (0.00 / 0)
Turnout seemed low, but normal for a primary I suppose.

Other precincts at my polling station had 25-30 people already.

Machines had no problems, very easy to use.

What about NY-15? (0.00 / 0)
I didn't realize until now that Jonathan Tasini is challenging Rep. Charlie Rangel.  Anyone down in Manhattan have any thoughts?

My advice: (0.00 / 0)
there's nobody worth voting for in that race, stay home

What? (4.00 / 2)
And miss out on playing with these brand spanking new voting machines?  If anything, head to polls on Primary Day to get used to new contraptions in time for the General Election :-)

[ Parent ]
Polls don't open in the Hudson Valley until noon. (0.00 / 0)
Lots of problems with polls not being open in the City and machines that won't work.

You would think that testing them would be a good idea...and getting someone with keys to the building on time would also be a good idea?

We've got some work ahead of us.

@azipaybarah a trusted source emails to say "even my boss...had huge problems in staten island & he was the first voter at his polling place" #voteoops

We've got some work ahead of us.

Reid Epstein Tweet (0.00 / 0)
@reidepstein Wife, who just voted at PS 107, reports "no Democratic scanners" available. She had to vote by paper ballot. #notgood

We've got some work ahead of us.

"No democratic scanners" (0.00 / 0)
Erm, aren't all scanner meant to take all ballots in their precinct , Democrat or Republican?

Can't wait to vote (0.00 / 0)
on the new voting machines in the Township of Butler.  I'll post what I find out.

Qui tacet consentit.

Another Azi Tweet: (0.00 / 0)
@azipaybarah getting serious. source says nyc mayor @mikebloomberg later today will address reports of voting problems in nyc today #voteoops

We've got some work ahead of us.

My personal predictions.... (0.00 / 0)
Paladino beats Lazio by a margin that's not huge, but comfortable enough that we're not waiting on absentee ballots.

Espada loses.

Kennedy beats Stachowski in the 58th SD, but Mike Kuzma does better than expected.

Patrick Gallivan takes the Republican nod in the 59th SD.

ESPADA ALERT! (0.00 / 0)
Just received an ask for Poll Watchers in the Bronx. Don't need to be an attorney. Apparently there are reports of intimidation and tampering.

email me at brian @ thealbanyproject dot com and I'll pass along how you can help.

We've got some work ahead of us.

New voting machines broken (0.00 / 0)
at Elijah Stroud School in Prospect Heights.  I voted via paper ballot

Used new Machine in Dutchess County (0.00 / 0)
Smooth and easy, but I can see how in the general in November it's going to be slow.

We've got some work ahead of us.

I voted (0.00 / 0)
in beautiful, buccolic Butler around 4:30 pm.  There was just one new machine (usually we have two lever ones).  I was the 3rd Democrat to vote out of a total of 34 (including Republicans and Conservatives).  My kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Wiggins, (wo)manned the new machine and helped me process my ballot.  I'm just a whippersnapper in Butler, being nearly 59 years old.  There were 2 other (and older) voters there with me.  No problems were reported with the machine and voters seemed to like it.

Qui tacet consentit.

Due to the widespread reports (0.00 / 0)
of problems with the machines, my prediction is that we won't know who won the AG primary until Thanksgiving.

North Salem (Westchester) (0.00 / 0)
33rd overall in my precinct at 6:00 pm.  13th on the Dem side.  Turnout seemed light for the Repubs which is weird since we have a real contested Assembly primary between Mary Beth Murphy and Greg 'half nuts, total weiner' Ball.

Loved the new voting machine system.  I always felt that the old machines required a leap of faith that your vote actually was counted.

PEDRO LOSES! WOOT! (0.00 / 0)
Just heard on YNN/NY1!  Bada-Bing!

Say...that suit looks familiar :-)
