| Town of Islip councilman Christopher Bodkin is said to be reconsidering a run for New York State Senate in the Third Senate District.
Sources say that Bodkin has yet to officially announce that he will not run for Senate, nor has he officially made an announcement saying he was running for Senate. But in discussions with Democratic Party officials, he has indicated that he will not run for Senate.
Bodkin was a Republican until last fall when he switched to the Democratic Party. If he did run for Senate, he would have challenged Jimmy Dahroug in the Democratic primary.
Sen. Caesar Trunzo (R-Brentwood) is the Republican incumbent. Dahroug has run two previous campaigns against Trunzo in 2004 and 2006. |
