SD-58: Worst. Campaign. Photo. Ever.

by: phillip anderson

Wed Oct 29, 2008 at 15:38:33 PM EDT

That's Dennis Delano. This site says it's an actual campaign photo. If so, someone is probably in the wrong line of work.

UPDATE: Yep. It's true. That photo is cropped from this one on Delano's campaign site. I have to admit that I've never seen a candidate include a shot of himself out drinking with the boys on a campaign site before.

On the web: Delano Lies.

That explains it (0.00 / 0)
I now understand why he's running a "stealth" campaign.

Ha! (0.00 / 0)
Just for amusement's sake:

Can't believe that he (4.00 / 1)
...named a campaign photo "mybuds.jpg"!

[ Parent ]
I noticed that too... (0.00 / 0)
"My buds."

This guy is a real tool.

Aaah! Another graduate of the (0.00 / 0)
John Sweeney school of political campaigning.

REBOOTNY.org - it is time to Reboot the New York State Senate!

You guys are really pathetic.

Jim (0.00 / 0)
We've met many times and I usually respect your opinion, however, I am at a loss to see what is disrespectful about publishing a photo put out by the campaign and then making fun of it.

Amateurish, yes. Sue us (actually, don't). But disrespectful, classless or pathetic? Really?

[ Parent ]
No class? (0.00 / 0)
I don't see anything classless or amateurish about it, really. We reserve the right to share a laugh over a photo that is being displayed on Delano's campaign website.

Classless would be if we followed Delano around to get said photo just to try and pass him off as a drunken wannabe politician. That would be pretty classless. But we didn't have to do any work on this. Delano provided us with the goods.

[ Parent ]
drunken (0.00 / 0)
Robert, are you now introducing drunkenness into this campaign?

I have always CRINGED when right-wingers who I know send me ugly photos of Hillary.  It's the same when lefties do it.

Talk about issues.

Jim... (0.00 / 0)
We do talk issues here, if you haven't noticed. But again, I'm not (and no one else here is) the person who posted this on Delano's campaign website. And I think it's funny that you are telling me to "talk about issues" when you should really be telling that to Dennis Delano. When is he going to "talk about issues?"

[ Parent ]
Issues (0.00 / 0)
What are Stack's issues?  He's a machine politician.  Why are getting your hands dirty with a guy like that?

Oh no... (0.00 / 0)
Don't spin it Jim. What are Delano's issues? What will he do as a state senator that will be different than Stachowski? What will Delano do for the people of the 58th?

We know about Stachowski. He has told us about what legislation he has sponsored in the New York State Senate and lists that right on his campaign website.

So tell me Jim: Where does Delano stand?

[ Parent ]
Stand? (0.00 / 0)
I get the feeling that beer makes him lean.

Against a wall, against a pole, against a street sign....

I love that joke.

Don't judge other people by your own limitations.

You can't articulate a single reason why you are FOR Stack.

What exactly do you hope to gain from the NYC Dems taking over the state senate?

More Medicaid spending on NYC nursing homes?

What?

Why I'm for Bill Stachowski (0.00 / 0)
A dissertation by Amherst Guy

1) Bill Stachowski will become Finance Chair in a Democratic Controlled Senate, instantly making the second most powerful senator a Buffalonian.

2) Bill Stachowski is not a member of the corrupt BrunoSilverSkelos family of beverages.

3) Bill Stachowski supports tough environmental standards

4) Bill Stachowski supports tough gun laws

5) Bill Stachowski supports fair billing practices

6) Bill Stachowski supports stem cell research at state universities

7) Bill Stachowski supports green jobs initiatives

8) Bill Stachowski supports UB's 2020 plan

3-8 answer your second question.

I'd keep going but I'm late for trick or treating. I'm going as Dennis Delano.

Listen Jim... (0.00 / 0)
I can articulate why I support Stachowski. Your dodging and dancing around about Delano is telling. Do you know where he stands on anything?

Aside from agreeing with Stachowski on a number of issues, I believe Stachowski has been a strong voice for Western New York during his time in the Senate. If re-elected, he would more than likely become the chairman of the Finance Committee - a key post to have an upstate Democrat in. He is a leader among the Democrats in the Senate and keeping him in that leadership would be important for WNY and Buffalo.

That said, the usual Republican talking points about "New York City Democrats" are failed talking points. Republicans want to have their cake and eat it too. While they are criticizing "downstate Democrats," they are protecting Long Island's interests.

So tell me Jim: What is Dennis Delano all about?
