Speaking of the Middle Class...

The vibe has changed, at least (0.00 / 0)

When I think back to what New York City felt like to me in the late 70s and early 80s, it had such a different feel. The city has always been about bustle and doing, but I used to feel like I saw people living, too. Now it just feels somehow robotic to me, and it seems hard to find places where the pace is a little slower, which were never in short supply a few decades ago.

I'm referring to Manhattan here, not too familiar with the boroughs. Maybe some of what I miss just got pushed out by real estate inflation after the stock boom from the late 80s through the 90s.
