The National Lieutenant Governors Association will be coming to Buffalo this week to hold their annual meeting beginning on Wednesday and running through Friday.
The agenda for the meeting looks promising and I am hoping to attend at least one day's worth of festivities. When I say I am hoping, I mean that I have contacted the NLGA to see if I can get access. We'll see how receptive they are to having bloggers in the room.
Some of the highlights of the meeting schedule:
- Governor David Paterson will speak at the event. NLGA recognized earlier this year that 15 lieutenant governors have become governors. The fifteenth? David Paterson.
- Former state senator and current Mayor of Buffalo Byron Brown will be on hand also.
- Jim Lehrer of PBS will give the luncheon keynote on Wednesday.
This is a pretty big event and it's going to be right in our state. In fact, this is right in my backyard. I am hoping to go. We'll see how that works out.
